CodeAIR Safety Information
Share
CodeAIR is designed for supervised indoor use in educational settings. While CodeAIR's micro size (55g), enclosed prop guard, and low-energy battery are designed to minimize risk, it is a flying device with spinning propellers and should be treated with appropriate care.
Supervision
CodeAIR should be operated under the direct supervision of a qualified educator or adult at all times. Students should not operate CodeAIR without an adult present.
Environment
Fly CodeAIR indoors in a clear, open area free of obstacles. Ensure adequate ceiling height and distance from people not involved in the activity. CodeAIR is not designed for outdoor use.
Eye Protection
Safety glasses are recommended during flight operations, particularly during initial learning activities.
Battery Handling
CodeAIR uses a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery. Do not puncture, crush, or expose the battery to extreme heat. Charge only with the included USB-C cable. Do not leave unattended while charging. Inspect the battery before each use and discontinue use if the battery appears swollen, damaged, or deformed.
Propellers
Keep fingers, hair, and loose clothing away from propellers during operation. Do not attempt to catch or grab CodeAIR while in flight. If a propeller is damaged or cracked, replace it before flying.
Age Guidance
CodeAIR and the Fly with Python curriculum are designed for students age 13+. Younger students may use CodeAIR with additional adult supervision and at the educator's discretion.
