As Firia Labs' EdTech Evangelist, I am on a mission to close the digital divide by ensuring that every child has an opportunity to create physical computing experiences by learning how to code - regardless of their background or circumstances. I believe fostering a student's passion for creating is one of the best ways to contribute to the positive evolution of our planet.
Prior to joining Firia Labs, I served diverse, global learners in K-12, post-secondary, corporate and non-traditional settings. I’ve taught mathematics and computer programming, conducted research in STEM education, and developed culturally responsive curriculum for learners of all ages.
I have a BS and MS in mathematics, a PhD in Educational Mathematics, as well as training in both the visual and performing arts. I became a Firian because I wanted to combine my background in education, software development and public speaking.
Growing up in Southwest Arkansas has made me a country girl at heart. I will gravitate towards almost anything involving animals, dirt, trees, and water. When I’m not outside, you’ll find me writing music on the piano, singing, dancing, cooking, or experimenting in the kitchen. My community activities support rural entrepreneurship, foster conscious leadership, and build brave spaces that help people have courageous conversations.
If you want to learn more about Firia Labs or need support with one of our products, I keep my cape right next to my computer! Send your questions and concerns to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll be in touch.
